While school choice can provide autonomy and flexibility, like creating more targeted programs to help certain students, more resources and more parent involvement it is critical to develop strong accountability systems to preserve educational quality and guarantee that public monies are used wisely. Although overall, school choices do not improve public education, from the years that Public school has been accessible it has, yes, brought us all more opportunities and a form of education provided for us. Those of us who had the privilege to attend school and graduate have gained knowledge, skills and literacy and it has helped us become who we are and what we are able to do.
